What is Microsoft Copilot?

Launched by Microsoft in 2023, Copilot is an AI-powered assistant designed to make everyday life easier, whether you need help brainstorming ideas for work or inspiration for a party.

Harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, it can be used to boost productivity and help you make faster, more informed decisions on the move.

Microsoft's new gadgets, the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro, both feature the brandʼs most innovative AI experiences yet, too...

AI features include AI-generated images for easy-to-create visuals, a new and improved Windows Search, and File Summarisation which can quickly recap lengthy documents for an easy read.

You can also experience features such as Recall, which will transport you back in time to get right back to where you were on your PC. Drop a hint, and Recall will track it down in seconds for you. This is a new feature alongside Click To Do, which gives you instant actions on screen-recognised text and images. With just one click, you'll get more action.

So, are the Microsoft AI laptops really worth the hype?

LADbible was invited to try the new Surface devices as part of a creative baking challenge.

The idea was to see how the Surface Copilot+ PC can be used to help complete beginners learn a new skill, by coming up with ideas, inspiration, step-by-step instructions, and even moral support – all with the help of a PC.

As I'm a baking novice, I asked Copilot to help me to come up with an easy cake design that could be achieved within an hour time frame, alongside clear instructions and flavour recommendations.

The cakes suggested by Copilot were impressively elaborate and far beyond my skillset. So, I quickly learned to fine-tune my questions, and keep my prompts as on point as possible.

In turn, Copilot recommended flavourings to compliment my design theme, alongside time-stamped instructions, so that I didn't burn the cake.

What I liked the most is that Copilot even creates images through its Image Generator and features a Voice Command setting, so that you can ask for help without getting your keyboard sticky in the heat of the kitchen.

No matter what sparks your interest, the new Microsoft Surface devices are a great way to keep yourself curious, challenge yourself to try something new, and conquer the things that always seem to fall to the bottom of your to-do list.

As you can see, you need to tailor your questions well [LADbible Group]
