A private investigator has shared the four most common signs that your partner could be being unfaithful.
While you might suspect that your significant other is having an affair, it can be difficult to know for sure without any solid proof.
And while of course, nobody wants to find out their partner is cheating, most of us would rather know the truth.

If anyone knows how to catch a cheater, it's private investigator Tom Martin, who has shared the biggest signs that someone could be up to no good.

The former federal agent told The Independent about the key signs to look out for.
Martin also wrote the book, Seeing Life through Private Eyes, which lists the top 20 'giveaway' signs of a cheating partner.
How have things changed recently?
Martin explained that prior to social media, more people relied on the work of private investigators to help them expose their cheating partners.

"The game has changed drastically. And technology is 100 percent the reason why," he said.
However, Martin did emphasise that it's important not to jump to conclusions that could 'jeopardise a valuable relationship over what may be unfounded anxieties'.

What are the four signs?
According to Martin, the most common signs that suggest your partner could be cheating are:
Spending longer at work
Suddenly spending longer in the office could be a red flag when it comes to cheating, with Martin explaining any unexpected change in habit is worth taking note of.
Business trips
According to the private investigator, frequent 'business trips' could also be a cause for concern, especially if they have seemingly come out of nowhere.
Less sex
Fluctuations in how much sex a couple has is completely normal, but Martin claims it could also be a tell-tale sign that your partner is being unfaithful.
Being defensive
The expert also believes that getting defensive could also be a red flag and a potential sign that your partner is hiding something from you.
