Suits star shares secrets to bombshell transformation after shocking fans with unrecognisable new image
Suits star Rick Hoffman has revealed the key to his weight loss after leaving fans impressed with his transformation.
The actor, 56, who starred as quirky Louis Litt in the hit legal drama, posted a picture of his slimmed-down frame at the end of last month with the caption ‘Been a minute’.
The picture drew reaction from his followers, who wanted to know what his ‘secret was’. One fan asked him directly saying: “May I ask your secret for weight loss? You look great!”.

Hoffman responded saying: "Intense intermittent fasting and keto diet. No alcohol.
What is Intermittent Fasting and the Keto diet?
There are a number of intermittent fasting techniques, although Hoffman was not specific about which one he used.
There is alternate-day fasting, which involves a 24-hour fast on every second day and then also time-restricted eating, where people only eat for a certain number of hours in the day.
Whole Day fasting is another one, using the 5:2 diet involving five days of eating and two days of fasting periods.
Recently, an international team of researchers, led by academics in Argentina, compared intermittent fasting with traditional dietary advice.
The new Cochrane review examined 22 trials examining intermittent fasting involving 1,995 adults across North America, Europe, China, Australia, and South America.
“Intermittent fasting just doesn’t seem to work for overweight or obese adults trying to lose weight,” said Luis Garegnani, lead author of the review from the Universidad Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires Cochrane Associate Centre.
“Intermittent fasting may be a reasonable option for some people, but the current evidence doesn’t justify the enthusiasm we see on social media.
“Obesity is a chronic condition. Short-term trials make it difficult to guide long-term decision-making for patients and clinicians"
The Keto diet is described by Healthline as 'consuming a very low amount of carbohydrates and replacing them with fat to help your body burn fat for energy'.
Of course, anyone embarking on any new diet or weight loss regime should consult a doctor first.
Reaction to Hoffman’s new look
People commenting on Hoffman’s post were impressed, with one person writing: “Someone is lit!”, while another said: “You look terrific! Congratulations.”
Fans also made comparisons to Suits’ suave leading man, Harvey Specter, who was played by Gabriel Macht.
"The Harveyfication of Louis needs to be taught at Harvard," wrote one, as a second echoed: "Louis turning into Harvey!"
Hoffman’s Suits co-star Sarah Rafferty, who played Donna Paulsen, showed her support too, leaving some supportive emojis on the post.
Suits aired for nine seasons and was also the show that Meghan Markle rose to fame in, playing paralegal Rachel Zane. She starred in seven seasons of the hit show, leaving after announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, who she married in 2018.
Actor Patrick J Adams, who played Markle’s love interest Mike Ross on the show, recently shared his idea for a reunion show involving the Duchess of Sussex.
On his Instagram stories he wrote: "Mike and Rachel are working on a class action suit against a giant Al company when suddenly the years of past indiscretions and illegal manoeuvring at Pearson Hardman are threatened to be revealed.” His pitch included the other main characters and he ended the posts saying: “Let's go. I'm ready."

Meghan Markle
The Rachel Zane star left Suits after announcing her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017.
After tying the knot the following year, the couple stepped away from royal duties and relocated across the pond to California, where they’re now raising their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
They’ve since been involved in philanthropy and production, launching the Archewell Foundation and Archewell Productions, and working with Netflix on the Harry & Meghan (2022) docuseries and With Love, Meghan (2025).
As well as founding her own brand, As Ever, Markle’s set to return to acting with a cameo as herself in comedy film Close Personal Friends, which is yet to be released.
Patrick J Adams
Adams has continued his onscreen work since his days playing college dropout-turned-unlicensed lawyer, Mike Ross on Suits. He departed the series at the same time as Markle after their characters got married and moved to Seattle, however, he later returned for some guest appearances.
Adams went on to star in the likes of Disney+'s The Right Stuff (2020), Netflix's Wayward (2025), and the BBC’s The Bombing of Pan Am 103 (2025). His latest project is the Paramount+ series The Madison.
The actor married Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellisario in 2016 and they share three daughters together.
Gabriel Macht
After Suits ended in 2019, the Harvey Specter actor appeared to step away from the spotlight and moved to Europe with his family, where they live a private life. However, Macht later reprised the iconic role for the NBC spinoff series Suits: LA (2025).
Macht is also an executive shareholder and brand ambassador for Bear Fight Whiskey.
He has two children with his wife of over two decades, actress Jacinda Barrett.
Sarah Rafferty
Since saying goodbye to Donna Paulsen, Rafferty has continued her acting career, appearing in the Netflix drama series My Life with the Walter Boys (2023-present), as well as recurring medical roles in Grey’s Anatomy (2020) and Chicago Med (2021-2022).
Away from the TV screen, Rafferty is an ambassador for the Alzheimer's Association and The Brain Project.
She shares her two kids with her husband, Santtu Seppälä, whom she wed in 2001.
