A woman who attended the UK’s ‘biggest swingers festival’ has given us a glimpse of what actually goes on behind closed doors.
And rather firmly closed too, as attendees must be ‘verified’ in order to attend Swingathon.
Alternative lifestyle coach Baby K is one of those who helps organise the festival which ran last weekend (17-20 July) for its fifth year in a row.
Just ‘short of 1,000’ people were set to attend the event in the village of Allington, Lincolnshire and the award-winning ‘lifestyle advocate’ said it was one big ‘explosion of freedom, fun and frolicking’.

Baby K has been involved with Swingathon for the past three years, working as a festival coordinator and festival art designer. She explained to LADbible how different it is to what people might expect - not just sex.

There has been plenty of backlash towards the event, as some locals kicked off about the event that celebrates ethical non-monogamy, kooky kinks, freaky fetishes, and the LGBTQ+ community without being a ‘one size fits all’. But while it may be a taboo that some people can’t handle, it creates an important safe space for swingers, meaning the verification and security is very important.
“We had a lot of new and original attendees, hosts and vendors. There many new people are coming into the lifestyle now and lots of them have seen the festival and couldn't wait to come,” Baby K says.
In order to be able to apply for a ticket, people need to be ‘verified in the lifestyle and actively partaking’.

“This is done through apps such as the Pineapple Lifestyle app, a meeting with the festival owner or verification from club owners,” she explains.
But there were some people from outside ‘trying to get into the festival unwelcomed’.
However, they were apparently dealt with ‘swiftly and professionally’ by the security team, keeping ‘everyone safe’.

Some of that may come from the big ‘misconception’ that Swingathon is a ‘sex festival’. And Baby K explains this is simply not the case, describing it as a ‘festival where adults can be adults’.

Those adults may have been totally naked at times or in 'bondage gear' with 'play time' for those consenting happening 'anywhere at anytime around the festival'.
“Swinging covers many areas, some people ‘play’, some don’t,” she says. “Some people are single, some married, some in more than one relationship (but consensually).
“The art of swinging is communication, that’s what you will find here – a whole load of amazingly crazy people who can really communicate.”
For the coach, her favourite part was seeing all of those come together, from ‘dancing and chilling’ to ‘enjoying each other intimately’ and playing the various games.
And while those games included the likes of karaoke, ice breakers and bingo, they aren’t necessarily the most traditional versions.

Bingo was actually ‘butt plug bingo’, described as a ‘naughty’ version with, you guessed it, ‘cool butt plugs’ as some of the prizes. The naughty karaoke also saw participants using a play machine while getting judged on their singing skills at the same time.
“The naked ice breakers were games such as Gush Bucket, Cum Run and Nibble My Ring,” Baby K says. “Traditional party games with a naked and naughty twist where the players teamed up and had to compete in a knockout.”
So, the Gush Bucket meant blindfolding players and having to trust another in front with a bucket of water, tipping it over their head. Nibble My Ring ‘included pineapple rings’ with the first to catch and eat it winning.
“We had a married couple play this game naked,” she says.

Well, now that’s an insight. But it's just a little glimpse, other games saw participants engaging in sex acts, 'all willing and consenting' of course, or guess 'who was on the other side of the Glory Hole'.
DJ Hannah Rack also arranged a '40-person orgy', giving everyone protection while there was naked body painting available, rope tying demonstrations, erotic workshops and holistic approaches to sex and relationships.
“Everyone has something they like,” Baby K adds. “It’s just the real spicy ones who come to Swingathon.”
