Usually when you're on a flight, you're heading to or from a long-awaited holiday destination.

This means that most of the time, it's a celebratory occasion, so you shouldn't have any worries while flying right?

Wrong.

An expert has revealed that there is actually one huge thing that you should avoid while travelling by air that is apparently detrimental to your health.

Gary Brecka is a Human Biologist who is best known for being the host of The Ultimate Human podcast, where he discusses human well-being and health with his guests.

On YouTube, the podcast's description reads: "Gary Brecka is a Human Biologist, biohacker, researcher, and an anti-aging and longevity expert. His approach to health is simple: 'Aging is the aggressive pursuit of comfort'."

The social media figure has recently had a clip from his podcast go viral, with over half a million views at the time of writing.

In the video, he reveals what you shouldn't do when you fly, and it might change the way you travel.

There's one thing you absolutely shouldn't do on a plane, according to the expert.

Brecka begins: "Remember, the biggest sin of travel in my opinion, is alcohol on airplanes."

That's right, according to the health expert, you should go booze-free in the air.

Brecka even went as far as to claim that it is 'worst thing in the world' when you're flying.

He continues: "It not only can interrupt your digestion, it reduces your circulation,

"Remember, alcohol becomes something called acetyl aldehyde, and acetyl aldehyde is very acidic to the body, it can actually change the PH of your bloodstream."

Brecka says that the extra acidity is unnecessary when we travel, as it can make us tired, cause headaches and suck the energy out of our bodies.

It also gets into our digestive system and turns into sugar - not ideal.

Your liver will carry out the process of turning the acetaldehyde into sugar, which can negatively impact your focus and concentration.

This is followed by an alcohol crash, so Brecka concludes by saying: "So remember, zero alcohol on flights."

The expert says alcohol while flying is 'the biggest sin of travel'.

Viewers in the comments didn't seem too bothered by Brecka's advice though, as one user said: "Thank you for your thoughts, we will continue to drink alcohol on our flights."

Another put: "That’s the best part of travelling lol."

A third commented: "Vacation starts when I hit the airport."

Each to their own, I suppose.
