A 13-year-old lad has completed the 'Tube Challenge' with the aim to raise money for charity Bloodwise, the Mirror reports.

After losing his big brother Adam earlier this year, who died of lymphoma aged 17, Alasdair 'Ally' Clift, from Wirral, Merseyside, was adamant he was going to help where he could.

Ally began the 24-hour challenge in Chesham on August 1 at 5.15am and completed it nearly 20 hours later at Heathrow airport in the early hours of August 2. Mark Wild, the managing director of London Underground, was there to welcome Ally and awarded him with his certificate.

He navigated his way around all of London's 270 underground stations. Meanwhile, I struggle to embark on the correct Northern Line.

His original target of £100 was smashed and he has now raised more than £11,000 for the charity.

"In 2013 my brother was diagnosed with lymphoma and unfortunately after many rounds of treatment he passed away in March," Ally said when arriving at the 270th station and completing his journey. "I've done this challenge to hopefully give other people a better chance."

The family has been touched by the 'random gestures of complete strangers' who donated along the way, Richard Clift said.
