A married man, at the age of 44-years-old, has set a new record for the biggest biceps in the UK.

Father of three Dave Crosland, who trains six days a week, pushing weights of up to 280lbs, has 25 inch arms - thanks to his 10,000 calories a day diet.

Dave eats a meal every 90 minutes, and his bulking has led to him having to have his clothes specially made for him. He also can't sit on any garden furniture, as he destroys it, and needs to have two seats on planes.

He had no intention of breaking the record, which was formerly held by Tiny Iron, and was quite surprised to find out he'd broken it.

The filmmaker said: "I'm not even massively strong on my biceps. It is more about the way I train - it is very intense. I wasn't trying to get the biggest. It is just one of those things."

"I saw Tiny Irons at the Body Power expo and I had a photo and I saw that his arms weren't anywhere near the size of mine. I used to be about getting bigger - and I think my arms probably used to be bigger - but now I'm just about being healthy."

"It's a bugger trying to get shirts. I have to get them made by a tailor," Dave said.

Dave will typically have a breakfast consisting of oats mixed with whey protein, and then dine on six meals of chicken or beef, with rice and green vegetables.

When he is bulking up he'll completely cut out junk food from his diet, focusing on eating and drinking high protein meals and drinks every hour and a half. The amount of food he eats per day equates to about eight kilos.

The 44-year-old started lifting weights around the age of 15, but gave it up when he suffered a torn muscle in his arm in his early 20s.

Dave's average week of training consists of him concentrating on chests and triceps on day one, followed by back and hamstrings, shoulders and calves, and finally biceps and quads.

"I wouldn't say I have ever been obsessed with being big, but I was achieving a goal. Now I'm comfortable just ticking away and being healthy," Dave said.

In the past, Dave has admitted to taking steroids, but now lectures in prisons, to the police and army on the use of performance-enhancing drugs and appears in court cases as an expert witness on the subject.

After his use of steroids was documented in the film Under Construction 2, Dave hasn't used any performance-enhancing drugs for a year.
