Police have reportedly found £56,000 worth of marijuana plants at the flat of the young comedy dancer from Stavros Flatley.

20-year-old Lagi Demetriou bought the £295,000 top-floor two-bed apartment with the money he made from his fame on Britain's Got Talent. He and his dad, Demetri, managed to come fourth in the competition back in 2009.

Lagi's friend spoke to the Sun about Demetri's reaction to his son's arrest: "He burst out crying when he heard.

"Demetri's 100 per cent against drugs and will be furious about this."

It looks as though the flat was bought last year 'as an investment', however Lagi has never lived there and instead lives around the corner. The friend added: "Police found about £50,000 worth in there.

"Lagi doesn't live there, he lives around the corner in another flat.

"He has told the police that his mate was a tenant there.

"He said he doesn't know anything about the cannabis-growing operation.

"Lagi works as a barber when he's not dancing with his dad.

"He and his dad own about three or four properties around Enfield."

On Tuesday, the flat below called the fire brigade after a leak started coming in through the ceiling. It was then that the cannabis growing operation was discovered as the watering system for the plants had began to leak.

Lagi was called, and police arrested him once he got to the apartment.

He's been bailed until May pending further inquires.
