The First Pictures Of Game Of Thrones Season Seven Have Been Released

Get excited.

Ugh when will the new season begin already. For the past six Game of Thrones seasons, we have been treated to the opening episode around the start of April. But no, not this time.

Instead, we have to wait for dribs and drabs of information to come through until July.

But these latest stills from season seven do offer a very tiny window into what we can expect. If you haven't seen the latest episodes please be aware that there will be some MASSIVE SPOILERS below.

First up is Jon Snow aka King of the North. He's still looking as badass as ever in his military outfit complete with some very cosy looking fur.

The last we saw of good old Jon, he was exiling Milesandre and convening a meeting with the Northern Lords who erupted with KING OF THE NORTH chants like they were at an English Premier League match.

Sansa joins Jon in the fur department and is...ugh she's with Little Finger, again. That slimy guy never knows when to quit. I hope she gets a bit more involved this season now that she's said goodbye to the hideous Ramsay Bolton.

There's also shot of Lady Lyanna Mormont who gave us one of the most badass lines in the season when she stood up for Jon at the meeting.

Lyanna said: "Your son was butchered at the Red Wedding, Lord Manderly, but you refused the call.

"You swore allegiance to House Stark, Lord Glover, but in their hour of greatest need, you refused the call. And you, Lord Cerwyn, your father was skinned alive by Ramsay Bolton. Still you refused the call. But House Mormont remembers. The North remembers. We know no king but the King in the North whose name is Stark. I don't care if he's a bastard. Ned Stark's blood runs through his veins. He's my king from this day until his last day."

Yaaaaaaaas kween.

Now we have Queen Cersei who is just so bloody brilliant. Some people hate her, but when she gives you those eyes while swigging some red wine you know deep down she's legendary.

Now, depending on how you look at the last episode of season six, Cersei either won massive or suffered an epic loss. She blew the fuck out of Westeros, killing the High Sparrow, Margaery, Mace and Loras Tyrell, Lancel and Kevan Lannister, along with hundreds of King's Landing nobles and the Faith Militant.

She FINALLY got to sit on that Iron Throne but only because her last remaining child, King Tommen, jumped out of a window because his beloved queen had died.

Jamie is also seen standing next to Cersei, bringing back TV's sickest incest couple.

Now, when you look at who has the shittest story line you can't help but think of poor Bran. He's very immobile and after Hodor beautifully sacrificed himself, Meera now has to carry his ass through the snow.

Things were finally heating up for Bran, who has literally spent the last five seasons trying to get to some tree which was overrun with creepy goblins. But if it wasn't for Bran we wouldn't have known who Jon Snow's parents are.

Varys is still looking as shady as ever so we'll just have to see whose lives he ruins this season.

OMG can this please be the modern day Ross and Rachel TV relationship. Tormund and Lady Brienne look like they've got some hot chemistry and their kids would be so adorable with little swords.

Now, Daenerys looks as cold as ice here, and she's on land. Clearly her massive convoy of ships and dragons have made it to somewhere before she starts her mission to reclaim Westeros. The Queen of Dragons managed to pick up some company before she set sail, the people of Dorne.

Well, well, well, Sam and Gilly look like they're contributing to the rise of the White Walkers very well by reading books. They're in the Citadel having a cheeky study session.

The Hound is still terrifying and now he's in the snow. After getting absolutely slaughtered in a fight, he joined the Brotherhood Without Banners and is heading north to fight the White Walkers - which is a shit load more than what Sam and Gilly are doing.

Now to dear Arya Stark. The last we saw of her she was in full badass mode slitting the throat of Walder Frey after she killed his two sons and made them into a pie. Ugh god that was a good moment. I wonder where she is in this picture - only time will tell.

Now we will all just have to wait until July 16 for more to be revealed.
