The screenwriters think it's a good idea.

For a while now fans of superheroes have salivated over the possibility of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman combining Wolverine and Deadpool, creating a one of a kind crossover movie.

Sadly, a while back when rumours of this actually happening began to circulate, we were brought back down to earth when it was revealed there was no chance of that happening.

Much like a child who has just been told by his mum that a PS4 is too much money, but then given a PS3 as a consolation gift, we were given a Deadpool 2 teaser trailer that aired just as a prelude before screenings of Logan. Meh, it's alright, but it's not exactly what we wanted.

Now the whole is-Deadpool-going-to-be-in-Logan thing is dead and buried, people are angling for Hugh Jackman to appear in the second Deadpool movie.

Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were asked by The Hollywood Reporter if, instead of trying to worm a Wolverine cameo into the film, why they don't just have Hugh Jackman cameo as himself.

"Oh my gosh, that's one we haven't heard," Reese said. "That's not a bad idea. I like that. Deadpool lives in a world where Hugh Jackman is out there. He's got the People's Sexiest Man Alive cover that he staples to his forehead in the first movie, so maybe he could meet Hugh as Hugh. That would be really funny."

It is indeed funny, and would be welcomed. So we assume that it's already been written into the script. Job done.

The first trailer for the upcoming Deadpool film dropped back at the start of the month.

Now, in any other world you'd have had to have bought a ticket back then to see the final installment in the Wolverine saga to see the teaser, but we have the Internet, so it's not too bad.

The teaser begins with Reynolds seeing a man in a spot of bother, and rushes to a nearby phonebox to change into his suit in a Clark Kent/Superman type manner.

Of course, it doesn't go as smoothly as that and we're treated to the hero's arse cheeks pressed firmly against the glass of the phone box.

Sadly, by the time 'Pool is ready to help the man in need and Stan Lee has finished interrupting him, the bloke's dead.

This does nothing but excite us.
