Jon Snow Blasts Piers Morgan Over Fake News

Yikes!

Rent-a-gob Piers Morgan and Broadcaster Jon Snow are at loggerheads over which one is propagating fake news. It's all getting a bit much.

It started when Piers hit out at Jon for his new segment on Channel Four about the fake news phenomenon called Fake News Week.

To be honest, some proper analysis of fake news by actual journalists would be interesting - I wonder what Piers is so worried about?

But it turns out they have beef. Well, Piers has beef with everyone.

When a rumour went round that Piers Morgan had been suspended from his job at CNN a few years ago, Jon believed it and tweeted about it. Rookie error, Jon! The first rule of journalism is to check your sources! I think in this case, it might have been a case of wishful thinking.

Piers hit back saying that he was still employed by CNN and mocked the journalist for his bad information. And Jon had to apologise.

Anyway, Piers did get sacked CNN show after four years because of poor ratings, so Jon got his wish in the end.

But Piers still holds a grudge - and he lashed out on Twitter about Jon reporting fake news. First of all, get over it, it was six years ago, Piers.

Second of all, tweeting something you believe to be true and then recanting it, isn't the same as fake news. It's called making a mistake.

Fake news is basically propaganda - selling a lie and pretending it's true for a hidden agenda.

But the thing about fake news is that there's one man who was doing it before it was cool. Piers is a hipster when it comes to fake news - he did it first.

So Jon reminded Piers of the time he got sacked from his job as Editor of The Mirror for printing a front-page story about British soldiers abusing prisoners in Iraq - which turned out to be a hoax and they knew about it. Dun dun dun. Piers got the boot, The Mirror had to apologise, and it made British history.

It's basically frowned upon to print lies on the front-page of a newspaper.

But Piers is unrepentant and won't apologise! Well, does he ever?

I'm 100 per cent certain that Piers does an Arya Stark every night; before he goes to bed, he whispers the names of everyone he feels has wronged him so he will never forget.

Except with Arya it was people who had killed her family, and with Piers it's people who have slighted him or pointed out something he did wrong.
