64 fights, 56 wins, 40 knockouts. That's the record of Mexican boxer, Juan Manuel Marquez.

He's beaten Manny Pacquiao, knocked-out Joel Casamayor, lost only on decision to Floyd Mayweather - so yes, he can throw a punch.

Despite not fighting a professional fight since 2014, when he beat Mike Alvarado to win the WBO welterweight title, he's due to name his next opponent later this month.

Whoever his contestant is, should severely watch themselves. Marquez has risen up through, and successfully conquered, four weight divisions.

  • He lost his first professional fight through disqualification.
  • He won his next three fights by TKO.
  • He took the vacant WBO featherweight title in 1997 beating Cedric Mingosey who threw in the towel after 10 rounds.
  • He lost the title two years later to Freddie Norwood, but only took six months to regain it.
  • He beat fellow Mexican, Manuel Medina, to lift the IBF featherweight belt
  • He's faced Manny Pacquaio three times: one win, one draw and one defeat
  • His last fight in May 2014, saw him defeat Mike Alvarado by a unanimous decision to win the WBO international welterweight title.

On top of all of that, his punch his so hard, he once made his opponent vomit blood. Yes, blood!

In the throwback footage, which has only just resurfaced, Marquez demonstrates his talents against Aussie fighter, Robbie Peden.

The video, from 2002, shows Marquez punching a punch so hard it literally leaves Peden puking up his own blood.

Following the incident, officials spotted the gruesome sight and called an immediate end to the fight. Marquez won via total knockout.

There's a growing trend of professional boxers showing some early classic bouts.

Footage of Manny Pacquaio emerged of him as a 16-year-old knocking out a much older opponent in the ring.

Renato Mendones was set straight to floor by a powerful punch from the Filipino fighter.

And, of course, at the end of April attention will turn to London as Anthony Joshua prepares to face Wladimir Klitschko.

Joshua has already admitted that he believes he will not be recognised as the world's leading heavyweight until he unifies the four divisions.

He'll not only be defending the IBF heavyweight title against Klitschko, but also aiming to capture the vacant WBA title. This would leave him missing the WBC and WBO belts.

AJ recently proved to a reporter that he's not always a nice guy when he's not pulling punches in the ring.

At the end of the day, the simple answer, would be don't start a fight with any of these guys. If you're not floored, you'll soon be coughing up your own bodily fluid.
