Piers Morgan Has Another Dig At Tommy Robinson After Ascot Brawl

If you thought the verbal battle between Piers Morgan and Tommy Robinson was finished after the two clashed on Good Morning Britain, think again.

On Tuesday, Piers described the former EDL leader as a 'bigoted lunatic', during a chat about the Koran on the ITV breakfast show. Robinson responded by telling both hosts that there were over 100 verses in the Koran which incited murder and violence.

"Show some damn respect for people's religious beliefs," Piers raged. "You're stirring up hatred. You're being a complete disgrace."

Now, as new footage emerges of Tommy Robinson punching another man at Ascot yesterday, Piers has taken another swipe at him.

The video, shot on a coach's dash camera just after 7pm on Saturday, begins with Robinson pushing a man down in front of the bus.

It's then followed by the unknown man grabbing Robinson's jacket before multiple punches are thrown.

Journalist Assed Baig, who shared the footage, claims that an eye witness Robinson made the first physical move after a 'verbal' with the man.

Robinson, on Twitter, responded by claiming that the 'eye witness is a Muslim', and that he acted in 'self-defence'.

He later issued a statement, talking in third person, about the incident. It read: "The activist says his wife and he were being harassed and he only acted in self-defence.

"...This is regarding an edited video being shared online regarding Tommy. Tommy was at the races with his wife. This man followed them both to their coach abusing them.

"Tommy and his wife went to board the coach but the man was not finished, he attacked Tommy and dragged him from the coach.

"The man followed, instigated, and attacked Tommy when he was with his wife. Tommy acted in self-defence."

Robinson also said on Twitter he has a recorded interview with the bus driver that contradicts the footage.

Piers Morgan soon latched onto the footage and, on Twitter, said: "Tommy Robinson hates Islam because he says it's a 'violent' religion."

Piers made light of the video, contrasting Robinson's behaviour at Ascot (one of the more privileged events on the horse racing calendar) with his comments about Islam.
