Women Who Sexually Assaulted Footballer With Vegetables Sentenced

Brogan Gillard, 26 and Paige Cunningham, 22, two of the women who got a 20-year-old footballer drunk on vodka and subjected him to a bizarre attack, sexually assaulting him with vegetables, have been jailed.

20-year-old Shannon Jones, who was the third woman involved in the incident, is to be sentenced at a later date.

Last year the three women met the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and invited him back to one of their homes where they fed him drink until he passed out.

In his inebriated, unconscious state, the girls danced over him as they molested him before peeling and slicing vegetables on him as he lay on the floor.

At one point Gillard reportedly held a pair of scissors saying, 'put it in his bum?' before parting his bottom cheeks.

They pleaded guilty to sexual assault in November, though denied causing him actual bodily harm and sexual assault by penetration. Today, Gillard, who also pleaded guilty to unrelated child cruelty charges, was jailed for 31 months, and Cunningham received a 10-month sentence.

All three of the women will be made to sign the sex offenders' register.

Back in November the victim chose not to give evidence in court, but said in a statement that he 'felt pain but was not seriously injured'.
