A woman who has two vaginas has appeared in a BBC Three programme, The Woman With Two Vaginas, which shows her struggles.

Nicci was born with two vaginas, uteruses and cervixes and her life has been seriously affected by prolonged periods, as well as having to go through the heartbreak of numerous miscarriages. Because of this she decided to have a hysterectomy.

She says that sleeping with people was tough given that'd they say 'hey I had sex with a girl with two vaginas', which began to make her feel like 'a freak of nature'.

She found out she had two vaginas when she was 17-years-old. When she went to a specialist, due to the fact she was bleeding more than she thought she should, she began to receive hormone treatments.

Sadly the drugs had no effect on her, meaning her periods could last anywhere from seven to 28 days. In one case she bled for six months straight.

Andy, Nicci's husband, is her 'rock' and says that although he can never truly understand what she's been through because he's not a woman, he gets what she's going through. He sticks by her through everything, especially since their marriage in 2014.

Nicci was faced with a tough decision. After numerous attempts to have children, she had to get a hysterectomy which meant she'd never be able to conceive.

Not long ago BBC Three aired a similar program called My Unusual Vagina, which followed a woman called Antonia, who described her own genitalia as looking like a 'Big Mac burger with the filling hanging out'.

"The skin flaps are like elastic bands, if I was to pull them I could get them down to my thigh," she said. "For me sex is difficult, because it can hurt and feel uncomfortable."

She decided to spend £3,100 on a private clinic as the NHS wouldn't provide surgery, despite her enlarged labia causing her swelling and discomfort.
