A Shrek rave is touring Australia and will be playing ‘hits to bring out your inner ogre’

It's time to get Shrek'd.

Attention all Shrek fans, fanatics, devotees, and aficionados: if you have ever wanted to scream 'what are you doing in my swamp' without looking like an absolute loon, then here is your chance.

There is a Shrek Rave currently touring Australia and yes, Smash Mouth's legendary 'All Star' will be played.

Punters in Ballarat, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Canberra will have the opportunity to become green, mean, Shrekking machines throughout December and into 2023 at what should be the the most Shrek-themed party of the decade.

Shrek might have come out more than two decades ago, but that doesn't mean the rave version of what came to be a cultural phenomenon will be anything but epic.

The Shrek Rave will transform seven special venues across Australia into The Kingdom of Far Far Away, allowing you to let your inner ogre out to play.

All that glitters is gold, after all.

Shrek and his raving pals have already hit up a few select venues Down Under and it sounds like a night of epic adventures, if you ask us.

Seems like Aussies on social media are keen to get Shrek'd and slizzard at a rave in honour of the iconic DreamWorks ogre.

Who wouldn't, to be fair?

One person was very excited, saying: "This is definitely going to be the single greatest waste of money in my life, and God damn, am I proud of it."

Another person is keen to get litty lit on the rave's themed drinks, adding: "I wanna taste of that Shrek juice."

A third simply stated: "Shrek is life."

The night will feature Shrek-themed music, a Shrek-themed balloon wall for photos, free green glow sticks, free green fairy floss, and a free green glitter bar.

So all that glitters is... green, then?

Plus, there will be an 'I’m A Believer' singalong at midnight and the best Shrek-inspired costume wins a prize.

Oh, and those Shrek themed drinks we mentioned earlier? On the night you can choose from Shrek Juice, Donkey Drank or Farquaad Fizz.

God knows what's in them (especially the Farquaad Fizz) but YOLO, you're going to get wrecked n' Shrek'd.

Tickets start at $11 and go up to $50, depending on location and release of tickets.

Head to their socials for more details, because this promises to be a Shrekky shindig like no other.

After all, it was Donkey who once said in Shrek 2: "It’s gonna be champagne wishes and caviar dreams from now on."
