Bear Lunges At Woman Trying To Take Photograph Next To It

Bear Lunges At Woman Trying To Take Photograph Next To It

She instantly regretted her decision

A woman got the fright of her life when a bear lunged at her as she posed for a photograph beside it.

Now, it should go without saying that you shouldn't antagonise a wild animal, especially one as huge and as dangerous as a bear, but sadly it seems it needs reiterating.

And if Leonardo DiCaprio's pummeling in The Revenant wasn't enough to dissuade you, hopefully this video should go some way in driving the point home.

In the clip, which was filmed in Romania, a woman, who has something in her hand, can be seen walking over to the large, brown animal sat by the side of the road.

The people recording her from the safety of another car much further away can then be heard saying: "I have to film it, look how she is holding her hand, stupid girl."

Things then take a turn for the worse when the bear suddenly lunges at the woman, who turns and sprints back towards her car.

The woman got out of her car and approached the bear.

Fortunately, the bear stops after its initial jump and the people recording gasp in shock, saying: "Can you see how stupid she is? Go into the car. All that risk for a picture with a bear?"

The original video was published on TikTok by Alessandro Bacaoanu but has since been deleted. It is unclear exactly where in Romania the incident was filmed.

The Romanian authorities have issued repeated warnings for drivers not to treat bears on the roadside as pets, with Costel Alexe, the Minister of the Environment, recently saying: "The bear is a wild animal protected by law, not a pet.

"I say once again to the citizens of this country: a bear which has tasted biscuits, wafers, and feels that he can get his food in this way, will never be able to adapt to the forest again."

The wild animal then jumped towards her and she ran off.

Last month, authorities in Italy sentenced a bear to be put to death after it attacked two hikers.

Fabio Misseroni, 59, and his son Christian Misseroni, 28, were taking in the sights and sounds of nature at Monte Peller in the country's north last week.

During their trek, a brown bear popped out on their path and confronted them.

What happened next was a terrifying encounter that involved Fabio leaping onto the massive animal to stop Christian's leg from being mauled and allow him to make a getaway. During the melee, the 59-year-old broke his leg in three places.
