Where And When Are The Australian Protests Over The US Supreme Court Ruling On Abortion?

Activists have organised loads of rallies in Australia to show solidarity with Americans angry at the Supreme Court decision.

In a highly contentious decision, the US Supreme Court has overturned the Roe v Wade legislation, which granted American women the right to terminate a pregnancy.

The decision has already resulted in at least 26 US states implementing abortion bans immediately.

The impact of the decision will particularly disadvantage those in the south and midwest, with citizens in those regions now forced to travel hundreds of kilometres to undergo a safe, legal abortion.

The controversial decision has sparked outcry from around the world and Americans have already taken to the streets to protest. Many are calling for the decision to be overturned, for politics to stop governing women's bodies and for politicians to act to protect their citizens.
