Brenda Song confirms engagement to Macaulay Culkin

Brenda Song confirms engagement to Macaulay Culkin

The actors welcomed son, Dakota, last April - and now Brenda has confirmed they are engaged.

Brenda Song has confirmed she's engaged to partner Macaulay Culkin.

The couple first met in 2017 after starring in, Changeland, together, with the film's director, Seth Green, telling Esquire in 2020: "I didn't see that one coming."

They welcomed a son together last April, naming him Dakota after Culkin's sister, who died in 2008.

In a statement to Esquire, the couple said: "We're overjoyed."

It was reported in January that the parents had since got engaged, and 34-year-old Song has been photographed wearing a big old sparkly ring on that telling finger; however, there hadn't confirmation of their engagement - until now.

Song confirmed her engagement in a post on Instagram, advertising her new wedding collection.

In the post, The Social Network star said: "Being engaged and wedding planning has been amazing, I can't wait to share all these beautiful handcrafted items with you!

"This curated collection will help you find the perfect pieces for any wedding day, bridal shower, bachelorette party and more!"

Talk about killing two birds with one stone; it's an engagement announcement and an ad rolled into one.

Of course, the post doesn't explicitly confirm that it is Culkin she is engaged to - though it would be one hell of a bombshell if it was someone else.

Back in April, the couple shared a photo of them together at Sesame Place in San Diego, where they celebrated Dakota's first birthday.

The Home Alone star said: "Just want to send out a BIG thank you to the amazing people over at Sesame Place in San Diego for hosting my son's first birthday.

"They made a little boy's dreams come true. And my son also had a great time."

Of course, Culkin isn't the little boy we see on our screens at Christmas anymore; in fact, he's 42 (feeling old at all?).

To mark his 40th birthday in 2020, Song shared a heartfelt post on Instagram.

She said: "I could sit here and write endlessly about how wonderful, kind, loving, genuine, loyal, honest, brilliant and hilarious you are, and how grateful I am that I get to share and do this life thing with you.

"But firstly, that would take me an eternity and secondly, you won't even see this because you don't ever use Instagram. Hahaha. My unicorn that I never thought could exist, I am the luckiest person in the world because I am loved by you."
