We’re not exactly short of fantastic sporting events on these shores, but there’s something about American college football that captures the imagination. The intensity of the games in gigantic stadiums packed with hardcore fans, not to mention the thousands tailgating outside, is something that needs to be experienced first-hand.

And therein lies the rub. We don’t have many college football games in Ireland, so if and when we get the opportunity to witness it, it should be grabbed with both hands.

In case you haven’t heard, Dublin’s Aviva Stadium is playing host to Notre Dame v Navy on Saturday, 26 August in the 2023 Aer Lingus College Football Classic. The capital is the place to be on that date, as you can bet your bottom dollar the atmosphere is going to be absolutely hopping long before the big game kicks off with some incredible events going down.

Budweiser College Football Matchday Experience

Thousands of fans, including many who have probably been waiting their whole lives to get to a college game, are going to make their way to the city. While anyone lucky enough to get a ticket to the now sold-out game is in for a real treat, there’s only one way you can earn a chance to win the best seats in the house.

As part of the festivities in Dublin, official partner Budweiser will be transforming your favourite pubs into the perfect tailgate experience. We don’t really get to experience that in Ireland all to often, and the pubs taking part are set to go all in on recreating the excitement that goes along with it in the States.

Participating pubs will all be within walking distance of each other, creating a festival-like atmosphere for thousands of likeminded sports fans. What makes it even more exciting though is that simply by being there, you are within touching distance of having the chance of winning tickets to the game.

The first thing you’ve got to do to be in with a chance of winning is head to a participating pub and pick up a Budweiser, which is the official beer of the College Football Classic series. After that, just scan one of the ‘in-pub’ QR code - they’re on drip mats, POS etc, take a pic of your pint and enter your details to put yourself in the running.

So basically, the three steps you have to follow are:

  • Scan
  • Snap
  • Win!

It really is as straightforward as that for you to be in with the chance of a lifetime.

If you were to win tickets to the big game, that pint would definitely go down as the best one you have ever bought (unless it was someone else’s round of course, which makes it even better). Not only do you get to enjoy the classic taste of Budweiser that is as American as the game itself, but for every one of the 50,000+ people in attendance, you know there will be countless others who wish they were there too.

You can find more information about the competition here. It’s not long until this amazing event is happening, and victory is yours to take!
