Actor Kaley Cuoco has one again offered to buy a horse after seeing a news story about a NYC carriage horse being forced to work despite suffering from injuries.

Big Bang Theory actor Cuoco was reacting to a New York Post headline this time. It read: "NYC carriage horse forced to work despite gruesome injuries: animal rights group".

Cuoco posted on her Insta stories but captioned it: "Stop horse drawn carriages!!!! Once again I'll buy this one too! Stop stop stop stop!"

Her story was in response to another Instagram user who'd posted the front page of the Post initially and tagged the actor in, writing: "Get this horse too @kaleycuoco".

It comes just weeks after she also said that she would buy the horse punched by a German coach at the Olympics in Tokyo, after they refused to make a jump while carrying modern pentathlon competitor Annika Schleu.

Germany's Schleu was comfortably leading in the women's competition, but when it came to the showjumping event, things took a turn for the worse as her horse Saint Boy refused to jump.

Coach Kim Raisner grew annoyed and urged Schelu to hit the horse to get it moving, before punching it on the back of the leg herself.

A wave of social media backlash followed, with Raisner subsequently disqualified from the Olympics, while animal welfare group PETA called for horse events to be banned from the games altogether.

Responding to the news on Instagram in her Stories, Cuoco - a keen horse rider - wrote: "I feel it's my duty and heart to comment on this disgrace.

"This is not Olympic show jumping. This is a disgusting classless abusive representation of our sport in so many ways. This team should be ashamed of themselves.

"You and your team did not do your country proud or this sport. You make us look bad. Shame on you and Godspeed to any animal that comes in contact with you."

She added: "This is not our sport. This does not represent our sport.

"This rider and her 'trainer' are a disgrace. I'll buy that horse outright and show it the life it should have. Name your price."

There has long been scrutiny on the horses operating out of Central Park in New York, with animal welfare groups protesting vehemently against it.

This only intensified last year when footage surfaced of a horse was caught on camera, dragging her hind legs for a few metres before falling, where she then failed to get up.

The horse, known as Aisha, ultimately had to be euthanised, and animal advocacy group NYClass condemned the incident, saying: "It's very clear that it's not possible for horse carriages to operate in NYC without causing tremendous suffering, cruelty and abuse to the horses."
