The Mighty Ducks star Shaun Weiss is 'thriving' after moving into a sober-living facility and receiving treatment for his drug addiction.

In January, 41-year-old Weiss, who played Greg Goldberg in the classic Disney flick The Mighty Ducks, was arrested for burglary. He was sent to a rehab clinic to receive treatment for a meth addiction.

And it looks as though he's doing well, with friend Drew Gallagher sharing snaps of the former child-star looking a lot healthier than he did in his most recent mugshot and has now celebrated more than 170 days sober - but is now in desperate need of some new teeth.

Gallagher, who set up a GoFundMe back in January to help Weiss, has shared updates on how he is doing.

In a post from April, he wrote: "Just got off the phone with Shaun. He has never been so happy in his life he says. He is literally "in heaven" as he stated. He didn't speak of lush amenities or of special treatment-just that he is working out every day, eating great diet, and managing his diabetes perfectly. The addiction treatment side of things is making such a change in him especially when he discusses his future ambitions and his appreciation for life."

One from June 15 says Weiss is doing 'amazing', adding: "Same place same treatment and he is advancing as best as we could hope for. Yes, it's a long road with many stages and milestones. Today, we celebrate this milestone of four months of sobriety and growth!"

According to Gallagher, Weiss finished his in-patient rehab back in June and has since moved into a sober-living out-patient facility, saying that he seemed 'healthier than ever and very determined'.

On 29 June, Gallagher shared a photo of himself sat next to Weiss, who looks a million miles away from his gaunt mugshot earlier this year.

Alongside the photo he wrote: "First lunch out in his new sober-living setup! We need to raise more months rent for this place, but look at how he's thriving! This new chapter is a bit scary for him but he looks and feels better than ever!"

Gallagher is also hoping to get Weiss some new teeth and recently posted calling 'any dentist willing to help'. Gallagher says some new nashers are currently Weiss's 'biggest need' as 'he has no teeth and it's an added discomfort I'm trying to alleviate'.
