Sobriety looks great on Jessica Simpson, if you haven't noticed.

This month marks six years since the singer and actress, 43, turned her life around and quit drinking for good.

To remind herself how far she has come, she reshared a post from 2021 which marked her four-year milestone.

Clearly her sentiment remains the same as it did then, as she directed fans back to the post.

Simpson said the image, taken in the peak of her booze battle, shows an 'unrecognisable version of myself'.

She highlighted her personal struggles in the heartfelt caption, while offering words of advice for people trying to kick the habit.

The hitmaker looked back on her former self and said in the midst of her addiction, she had 'so much self discovery to unlock and explore'.

Simpson wrote: "I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity.

The star shared an 'unrecognisable' snap of herself in the midst of her addiction.

"Personally, to do this I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction and quite honestly I was exhausted. I wanted to feel the pain so I could carry it like a badge of honor."

She bravely opened up about how she decided to ditch alcohol to make the most of the rest of her life and 'never look back with regret'.

Although four years was an incredible landmark and a lengthy amount of time, Simpson said it had flown by.

She admitted it was hard to take the plunge and share her story with the world, but she also believes it's important to speak out if it can help others.

The actress added: "There is so much stigma around the word alcoholism or the label of an alcoholic.

"The real work that needed to be done in my life was to actually accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self sabotage.

'The drinking wasn't the issue. I was. I didn’t love myself. I didn’t respect my own power. Today I do.

"I have made nice with the fears and I have accepted the parts of my life that are just sad. I own my personal power with soulful courage. I am wildly honest and comfortably open. I am free."

The photo of her in the pink tracksuit marked her first day without alcohol and she felt inspired to let other people know her struggle.

Simpson previously revealed she hit 'rock bottom' on Halloween in 2017, when she was so drunk she couldn't dress her kids.

On November 1, she told a group of friends that she never wanted her kids to see her in that state again and she stopped drinking. Kudos to her!
