Couple spotted making the beast with two backs in public after clearly successful matchmaking festival

The raunchy moment took place on the main street of Lisdoonvarna, Ireland, and has left police seething.

One frisky couple couldn't wait to get between the sheets and instead chose to get down and dirty in the streets following an event at the Lisdoonvarna Match-Making Festival at the weekend.

The town in Clare, Ireland, boasts a month-long matchmaking festival... and we're sure police are going to urge organisers to pass on the message that it needs to remain pants-on while in public from now on.

The raunchy encounter was caught on camera and has made its way to social media.

The video shows a man and a woman entangled atop a windowsill while drunk punters cheered the couple on.

One bloke even sat right next to them on a bench.

The lad must be a bit of a voyeur to get so up close and personal.

Some onlookers were only metres away, while some were heard yelling: "Are you having a good time there, bud?”

Other people yelled more words of encouragement at the pair of horn bags with phrases like 'go on, you mad thing' and 'give it to her' heard in the clip.

And at the end, there was the less encouraging 'is that all?'.

Yikes.

The festival has been based in the streets of Lisdoonvarna for more than 160 years and has been responsible for many happy couplings.

Although perhaps not literally coupling right there on the main strip.

But, we digress.

Local police have confirmed that they are aware of the rather public ménage à... well, deux, this time.

In a statement to JOE, An Garda Síochána said the following:

"Gardaí are aware of a video circulating on social media of an alleged incident in Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare between Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September 2022."

The statement added: "Gardaí are conducting enquiries into the matter."

The Irish town is in the throes of the month-long festival at the moment, with doe-eyed hopefuls hoping to lock in a mate by the festival's end on September 30.

It's either that or crushing loneliness until next year, we assume.

The month-long bash involves the hotels, pubs, and restaurants across the Country Clare village.

Singletons can enjoy days of singing and dancing or meet with third-generation famous Irish matchmaker Willie Daly at the aptly named Matchmaker Bar.

Hopefully, the saucy singletons will keep it a tad more private in the future.
