If you've managed to already get through Netflix's latest true crime doc, you'll probably be wondering what the serial killer's ex girlfriend is up to.
The streamer dropped Aileen: Queen of the Serial Killers on Thursday (30 October), and the jaw-dropping film has put a new, eerie spotlight on the infamous murderer.
Aileen Wuornos, a former sex worker, was sentenced to death after she was convicted of killing six, although it's thought to be seven, men in Florida, US, from 1989 to 1990.
As shown in the documentary, her girlfriend Tyria Moore was still with her during that 12-month period of the crimes taking place.

The motel maid from Ohio met Wuornos in 1986 at a gay bar in South Daytona, Florida.

Moore, then in her mid-20s, became romantically involved with Wuornos, who was around 30 and working as a prostitute after an annulled marriage.
The pair moved in together, with Wuornos financially supporting them through sex work.
However, Wuornos later admitted she killed to support Moore, though the girlfriend denied involvement.

After Wuornos’ first murder in 1989, Moore distanced herself and later helped police secure her confession. Moore was never charged with any crimes and denied any involvement.
Where is Tyria Moore now?

After testifying against Aileen Wuornos in 1992, Tyria Moore withdrew from public life. That same year, she appeared in a Dateline special 'Damsel of Death', where she spoke briefly about her relationship with Wuornos, admitting she had fallen in love with her.
Since then, Moore has avoided interviews and public appearances, despite reports of potential media deals.

She declined to participate in any portrayals of her story, including the 2003 film Monster, in which Christina Ricci played a fictionalised version of her. Moore’s private life remains largely unknown.
Why did Tyria Moore stay with Aileen Wuornos?

"I didn't believe it," Moore explained, as reported by the United Press International.
"I know I didn't like to hear about her work (prostitution).

"So I'm sure I didn't want to hear something like that."
Wuornos was arrested on 9 January 1991, and Moore decided to work with police in exchange for immunity to get her to confess to the murders just days later.
Shortly after Wuornos was put behind bars, she called Moore from the prison, who told her the police were 'coming after me'. In a recorded phone call from jail, Wuornos told Moore the truth to protect her.
"I’m not gonna let you go to jail. Ty, I love you. If I have to confess everything just to keep you from getting in trouble, I will," she said.
Wuornos died from execution via lethal injection on 9 October 2002.
