It's been reported that Mackenzie Shirilla, the teenager who was dubbed 'hell on wheels' by a judge, has landed a new job in prison while she attempts to appeal her double murder conviction.
Shirilla, now 21, has made her way back into the headlines after new Netflix documentary The Crash resurfaced her heinous crime.
In July 2022, the then-17-year-old somehow survived after slamming her Toyota Camry into a brick wall at nearly 100 mph without breaking. With her was her boyfriend Dominic Russo, 20, and their friend Davion Flanagan, 19, both of whom sadly died as a result of the devastating crash.
Prosecutors claimed she crashed the car to end her 'toxic' relationship with Russo by killing him - something she denied.

In 2023, Shirilla was convicted of double murder in their deaths, despite her defence arguing that she suffered from 'a pre-existing medical condition that could have caused her to black out while driving'.

Regardless of this, she was sentenced to two concurrent sentences of 15 years to life in prison, with eligibility for parole in 15 years.
Now, Shirilla is spending her days locked up at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville, and it looks like she finally has something to curb being 'as bored as hell'.
Mackenzie Shirilla's new job in prison
TMZ reports that she's landed herself a job behind bars.
According to the prison's spokesperson, Tara Nickle, Shirilla is employed as a food service worker. Though Nickle didn't disclose what the convicted murderer will be earning, in general, US inmates can make up to $24 (£17.92) per month.
Finding employment behind bars doesn't mean that Shirilla has given up hope of finding freedom, however.
Last month, following the release of the Netflix doc and multiple failed attempts to have her case appealed, Shirilla's attorneys asked Ohio’s highest court to review her case after the latest appeal was rejected for being filed one day late - a delay they have argued stemmed from a leap-year miscalculation.
Her attorneys argue that she could have been acquitted if the paperwork was filed on time, court records first obtained by Cleveland 19 and reviewed by PEOPLE.
'I believe without question that Mackenzie Shirilla is guilty of murder'
While the Ohio Supreme Court has not yet said whether or not it will consider Shirilla's latest appeal, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement that Prosecutor Michael O'Malley 'believes without question that Mackenzie Shirilla is guilty of murder'.
"We are confident that any court that reviews this case will come to the same conclusion," the statement concluded.
This comes after reports emerged of complaints being made against Shirilla while behind bars.

23 violations since Mackenzie Shirilla's sentence began
A report on Shirilla's conduct in prison, obtained by the New York Post, claimed she's had a string of conduct violations during her time in prison already.
This has included reports of Shirilla altering her prison-issue clothes, concealing nude photos in her cell, as well as flashing her breasts to a visitor on a video call.
The report claims that she has had some 23 violations since being given her sentence, as well as outlining an incident in which Shirilla was allegedly caught in a compromising position with another inmate, with the inmate's 'hands in IP Shirilla's [sic] pants in her buttocks region'.
As a result of the incident, she was reportedly placed in restrictive housing for a week.
