UK's longest-serving female inmate back behind bars just weeks after release
In a head-scratching turn of events, the UK's longest-serving female prisoner Maria Pearson is already incarcerated after gaining her freedom last month.
Fresh from serving four decades behind bars, it's reported that Pearson (who brutally murdered love rival Janet Newton in 1986) breached a condition of her release.
It took 10 parole requests for the Board to finally cave, allowing the 'high risk' individual to return to society after 40 long years.
This came after her own relatives told The Daily Mail they believed she could still be 'dangerous' out on the streets.

Maria's sister, Lynn, claimed that her re-imprisonment was the 'most positive update that myself and my family could have hoped for,' which tells you everything you need to know about the criminal in question.
Keen for 'lessons to be learnt' by the justice system, Lynn wants her sibling to spend the rest of her life in the joint.
The 59-year-old shared with Teesside Live: "I don't believe she should have been released after the prison psychologist recommended an open prison first as she was highly likely to reoffend.
"The Parole Board need to take accountability that they dismissed recommendations and made the wrong decision.
"I hope with all my heart that she stops in prison until the day she dies, there is no place in society for her, she has proven that by being recalled only two weeks after release."
Back in June, the Parole Board approved Maria's release on licence, even though offender managers assessed her as a major societal risk.
The deal was for her to be GPS-tracked for the next 12 months and follow a strict curfew.
Lynn went on to add: "I just hope another family doesn't have to go through what we have gone through. I don't think she will be able to cope in the outside world."
A spokesman for the Prison and Probation Service has since said in a statement: "Prisoners released on licence are kept under tight supervision. As this case shows, we do not hesitate to put them straight back behind bars if they break the rules."
Hailing from Hartlepool, Maria tied the knot with ex-husband Malcolm Pearson in 1986, just days after their daughter was born.
However, the child was taken into care in the wake of a serious incident at home, eventually leading to the couple's separation.
When Malcolm later got engaged to building society worker Janet Newton, the future-killer was consumed by envy and even sent hate letters to her family home.
On 19 October, 1986, she stabbed her victim 17 times in the chest and left her to die in broad daylight.
