A woman has spoken of how she was tricked by a 'controlling and manipulative' man who was shocked to find out how penis was 'fake'.

There's no denying that dating is an absolute minefield at the best of times, but nothing could prepare this woman for the shocking secret her new partner was hiding.

Roxanne Shurmur had been single for nine months before she matched with TJ on an online dating app.

The 22-year-old has been put off from dating following a distressing period in her personal life. However, after meeting with TJ after two-weeks of phone conversations, she felt ‘relaxed’ and claimed that he made her feel like everything was okay.

In a UKTV documentary Red Flag, she explained that TJ was slightly shorter than she expected him to be, but that there was no awkwardness.

However, during their date, TJ - whose name is Tarjit Singh - asked Roxanne if she would mind going with him back to his father's house, so he could change into cooler clothes.

Despite being shocked by his ‘filthy’ house, things got ‘very intense, very quickly’ between the pair.

After only three weeks of knowing each other, Roxanne decided to move to live with TJ, and this is when cracks in their relationship started to show.

TJ showed some reluctance to be intimate at first, which is normal within the earlier days of a relationship.

However, when they finally did the deed, Roxanne explained it felt ‘uncomfortable’ and the lights were dimmed.

Probing him following this experience, TJ revealed that he had been through a gender transition journey, from female to male.

TJ explained that he was planning to get surgery, but wanted to do this alone.

He also falsely claimed that the surgery would be completed in a day - which raised red flags in her mind.

In the documentary, she said: “It just didn't look right. TJ seemed to have a convenient explanation for the entire situation."

However, things began to make sense after Roxanne shockingly discovered his prosthetic penis, as well as his birth certificate - which confirmed that he was biologically female.

TJ was named Hannah Walter at birth, but had not revealed this information to Roxanne.

When she confronted him with the revelations, he resorted to physical violence and began controlling and manipulating Roxanne.

Encouraged by friends and family, she launched an official police complaint against him, leading to his eventual arrest and sentencing.

And it turned out that this wasn’t the first time TJ had been convicted of a criminal offence.

He was found guilty at Snaresbrook Crown Court of three counts of assault by penetration, six counts of actual bodily harm, and a chilling count of making a threat to kill in July 2022.

In 2022, he was jailed for ten years.
