Police have issued a warning urging members of the public to avoid approaching a man with half an ear.

Dale Poppleton, 41, is wanted in connection with a serious offence and has been 'deliberately evading' police.

Bradford police are appealing for information on Poppleton's whereabouts, describing him as a white male, medium build and 6ft1 tall.

Police have noted that Dale is likely to stand out in a crowd since he is missing half of his right ear.

Earlier this month, police issued a similar warning to locals in Northampton after 19-year-old Johnny Brady escaped from St Andrew's Healthcare facility.

Police urged members of the public not to approach the teenager under any circumstances.

Johnny Brady was given a hospital order back in September 2021, after he admitted to setting fire to several schools and churches in Derbyshire, but escaped from the hospital on New Year's Eve.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesperson said at the time: “We would like to appeal directly to Johnny to reassure him that he is not in trouble but to please return to St Andrews or make yourself known to the police.

"We need to make sure you are safe and receive the care that you need."

Johnny Brady was described as white, 5ft 9 and slim, and had last been seen wearing black Adidas tracksuit bottoms, a black hoodie, and black trainers.

Four days later after he escaped, the teenager was found by police in the Crestwood area of Northampton.

Det Sgt Torie Harrison thanked the public for their help in sharing police's media appeals and calling up with information.

"It has been invaluable and the reason why we have been able to find Brady safe and well," they stated.
