Deliveroo To Bring New Trainers From JD Sports To Your Door In Two Hours

If you're in desperate – and I mean desperate – need of some fresh kicks then fear not, because Deliveroo is working with JD Sports to deliver trainers in less than two hours.

It's exactly the kind of delivery service shoe enthusiasts have been waiting for; there's no more having to wait for the weekend to find the time to visit the shop or worrying about shoes going out of style in the few days it typically takes to get them delivered, because the Deliveroo drivers have got you covered.

With the help of their trusty bikes and recognisable turquoise bags, the drivers can deliver both creps and crepes to customers in need – just make sure you're not smearing your trainers in Nutella and maple syrup.

The 'ultra-fast delivery' collaboration is being trialled in select JD Sports stores across the UK and sees customers pay a £14.99 delivery fee to get their favourite trainer brands within 120 minutes.

Commenting on the trial scheme, JD Sports told The Sun: "The prospect of a partnership is exciting but any future decisions will be subject to further testing.”

One Twitter user claimed to have heard firsthand about Deliveroo training in action, writing online: "I was just in @JDSports and the young lad behind the counter apologised for my delay being served and said the reason was, staff are being trained on handling @Deliveroo orders. You’ll soon be able to order clothes from deliveroo in >2hrs."

A spokesperson for Deliveroo told LADbible the company has been 'piloting a small number of deliveries at limited stores as part of a small-scale trial to understand whether there could be potential for a future partnership between Deliveroo and the JD Group'.

Deliveroo has earned dedicated fans across the UK following its launch in 2013 and has since expanded to include grocery delivery; a feature which proved helpful for many forced into isolation through the coronavirus pandemic.

Reliance on delivery services appears to have continued even out of lockdown, with Deliveroo revealing more than eight out of 10 UK customers reported ordering deliveries with the same or higher frequency in February 2022 when compared with the same time last year, when lockdowns were in place.

The partnership with JD Sports comes after Deliveroo partnered with WHSmith earlier this year in a trial which offered customers the chance to get 600 products including stationery, home office products and books direct to their door in minutes.
