A doctor has revealed the grim reality behind not watching your belly button. Watch below:

Your belly button health can largely depend how much you sweat and allow dirt to gather up, which is particularly apparent when wearing unwashed clothes.

Well, Dr Karan Rajan explains how not regularly cleaning your belly button, when you're in the shower, might lead to the bizarre formation of belly button jewels.

Notably, to those who might think they are exempt, it doesn't matter if you have an innie or an outie.

The TikToker was responding to a user who admitted that her partner had never cleaned his belly button.

She revealed that she began to clean her boyfriend's belly button, 'digging and digging and finding more gunk'.

By the way, apologies in advance to those reading this who are completely grossed out.

But it's about to get a whole lot worse.

The woman kept 'digging' and eventually pulled something out...*vom.

However, Dr Rajan said that this is known as a belly button stone.

He explained: "All flesh holes can build up with sweat, dead skin cells, oils, clothing fabric, bacteria and forbidden cheese.

"If not washed out on a regular basis, this material can accumulate and harden into an omphalolith - a belly button stone.

"Belly button stones come in a wide array of colours, it's usually black but can be a light brown."

As one might imagine, users were very much alarmed after viewing the viral vid.

One person wrote: "Who else is checking their belly button right now LOL."

"Not me cleaning my belly button straight after watching this," another person said.

Someone else replied: "Well, I could’ve went the rest of my life and never had known about this."

"I think I have seen everything in TikTok now."

Dr Karan's vid has racked up over 290,000 views and over 17,000 likes.

Long story short, be sure to give your belly button a clean otherwise you might find yourself in a bit of pain, or more importantly, pulling something out of there that you don't really want to see.
