Residents in a UK town say their houses started shaking in a potential 'earthquake' scare today.
The town of Telford, Shrewsbury believe they've experienced a small earthquake after the ground underneath them reportedly shook today (30 May), according to reports made by The Mirror.
Earthquake monitoring site Volcano Discovery have claimed that seismic activity was recorded.

At 15:07, they said: "A magnitude 4.2 earthquake near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England, United Kingdom, was reported only 30 minutes ago by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide.
"The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter early afternoon on Monday, May 30th, 2022, at 3:36 pm local time.
"The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

"Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.1.
"Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc."
Twitter account Love Telford wrote: "I heard a rumble and felt the desk shake. The fact others have asked the question makes me think it must have been."

Another person said: "I think we’ve just had a minor earthquake in #Shrewsbury. Did anyone else feel anything unusual in Shropshire or Wales.
"There is a fault line in the Irish Sea isn’t there?"
A third commented: "Earthquake felt in Shrewsbury England today! That was a weird experience! #earthquake."
While a fourth added: "Just had an earthquake in Shrewsbury. Quite a noticeable one!"
Volcano Discovery also noted that other towns near the area might have felt a slight wobble.

They added: "Weak shaking might have been felt in Shrewsbury (pop. 71,700) located 16 km from the epicenter, Telford (pop. 148,000) 25 km away, Wrexham (pop. 65,700) 30 km away, Crewe (pop. 75,600) 32 km away, Newcastle-under-Lyme (pop. 75,800) 35 km away, Stoke-on-Trent (pop. 372,800) 38 km away, and Chester (pop. 90,500) 40 km away.
"Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Birmingham (pop. 984,300) located 67 km from the epicenter."
