Anna Sorokin Reveals She Pays A Jail Assistant To Do Her Laundry For Her

Anna Sorokin Reveals She Pays A Jail Assistant To Do Her Laundry For Her

The now-infamous fraudster reflected on her prison side hustles and revealed she found the murderers to be the most ‘interesting'

While in prison, Anna Sorokin sat down with Alex Cooper on her Call Her Daddy podcast, confirming she still has people running around after her.

In fact, she has her own 'jail assistant'. So, basically a fellow inmate that does her washing.

Sorokin said her perceived affluent status in jail allows her to delegate her chores to other cellmates - which means they need to sit down in their cells and watch Netflix's Inventing Anna ASAP.

“They actually think I'm, like, super rich,” Sorokin told Cooper.

"If you have money, you don't really have to do anything, just pay somebody to do it."

As well as having a minion perform her menial tasks, Sorokin went into detail about how she never stopped hustling on the inside to maintain contact with the outside, explaining that she purchased ‘buying tablets’ and ‘phone minutes’ from fellow cellmates.

But her weirdest - and very creepy confession was about her time spent with killers while incarcerated.

She found them to be the most ‘interesting' behind bars, before telling Cooper: "They are just like you and me.”

According to Business Insider, the convicted scammer recorded the podcast at Orange County Correctional Facility in 15-minute increments.

Sorokin, who was initially serving a four to 12 year sentence, was released in February 2021 for good behaviour, only to be arrested again for overstaying her visa.

Despite being charged with attempted grand larceny, larceny in the second degree, and theft of services in 2019, the faux-German heiress stated that she doesn’t view herself as a ‘con artist’ and never intended to ‘harm others.’

"I literally cannot come up with a single example where I'm like, 'Let me f**k this person over, and they will never see their money again,'" she told Cooper.

The 31-year-old was found guilty by a jury and sentenced by Judge Diane Kiesel.

She ordered Sorokin to serve four to 12 years in prison after scamming, defrauding hotels, restaurants, a private jet operator and banks for more than $200,000.

At the time of her crimes, Sorokin posed under the name Anna Delvey, a German heiress who surrounded herself with New York’s elite.

In reality, she was a Russian-born girl who grew up in Germany, travelling to New York City with big dreams like so many people do.

During her time as Anna Delvey, Sorokin conned one of her best friends, Rachel Deloache Williams.

After the two took a luxurious trip to Marrakech in May 2017, Williams was left with a $62,000 bill with Sorokin promising she would reimburse her.

Soon after, Williams reported the German ‘heiress’ to police and her crimes began to surface.

At the time of her conviction, Judge Kiesel said that Sorokin had been seduced by the ‘the glitter and glamour of New York City’.

“I am stunned by the depth of the defendant’s deception,” she said.

"Her behaviour is unacceptable.”

She added: “Certainly she didn’t think about the people she scammed.”
