In case you haven't heard, US President Donald Trump has proven a controversial figure on both sides of the Atlantic, and the news from Downing Street that he'll be flying over for a 'working visit' this year has not gone down well with many in the UK.

Now the US President has given one answer to British protestors who don't want him to visit the country: 'I don't care'. To the point, isn't it?

Last year, UK Prime Minister Theresa May promised Trump a full state visit - which includes meeting the Queen - until he eventually cancelled, reportedly refusing to turn up if he would be met by protests.
While a meeting with Her Maj still remains on hold, today Trump was defiant as he spoke with Piers Morgan while at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
"I don't care. I don't care!" Trump said when asked by Piers what he'd say to those who disagree with him during their interview on ITV's Good Morning Britain.
"It's just one of those things. I don't say anything. You know why? I don't care."
Although he seemed unfazed by public criticism, Trump said he was prepared to say sorry to the UK for some of his past behaviour on social media.

Last year Trump was met with fierce criticism in the UK and US after he re-tweeted anti-Muslim videos posted by Jayda Franzen, deputy leader of the far-right group Britain First.
"If you're telling me they're horrible people, horrible racist people I would certainly apologise if you would like me to do that," Trump told Piers.
"I know nothing about them," he added. "I don't want to be involved with [these] people, but you're telling me about these people because I know nothing about these people."
The billionaire-turned-politician is known for his connections to Scotland, with the country being his mother's homeland and the site of two golf courses he owns.

Although he can't visit as regularly now that he's become POTUS, Trump sought to reassure Scots and Britons by saying he 'loves the UK'.
"The real me is somebody that loves Britain, loves the UK. I love Scotland," Trump said. "One of the biggest problems I have in winning [is that] I won't be able to get back there so often. I would love to go there.
"As you know, before this happened, I would be there a lot. Very special people and a very special place. I don't want to cause any difficulty for your country, that I can tell you."
While the people at Trump Turnberry might be pleased to see him, Trump's UK reception will no doubt remain mixed. Not that he gives a monkey's.
