Aussie Man Shocks Social Media With His Meat Pie Toastie Creation

Perfect culinary marriage or food abomination?

An Aussie bloke has shocked and amazed people on social media after showing off his meat pie toastie creation.

Millions of people have been under self-isolation for weeks now and they've really taken advantage of it. Whether they've dived into a good book, tried to learn the basics of a new language or got stuck into cooking, there are many ways to keep the boredom from creeping in.

But one man has shown off his brilliant and divisive creation: the meat pie toastie.

At the start, the meal couldn't look more bland. Two slices of white bread and a small meat pie sitting on a tray. Doesn't get more depressing than that.

Reddit user u/NaturalJuggernaut chucked the ingredients together, added a little cheese and what looks to be parsley or coriander to the mix, and then added the sandwich to the toasting machine.

After pulling the piping hot creation out of the sandwich press and delicately placing it on a plate, the man serves it with a bit of tomato sauce and offers it up for review.

Hundreds of people have liked the post on Reddit and many were thrilled at the care, poise and attention to detail featured in the video.

A viewer said: "This is truly a beautiful day in culinary creation."

Another added: "Gotta love the Australian-Australian fusion cooking here."

A third asked: "Do you deliver?"

But the reviews weren't all praise and adoration for u/NaturalJuggernaut. There were some naysayers who reckon this bloke has been in self-isolation for too long.

One person wrote: "I think it's time to lift the restrictions."

Another user said: "You scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, you didn't stop to think if they should."

Look, it's certainly not going to win over the hearts and minds of the judges on MasterChef Australia: All Stars.

But if you ever find yourself in a situation where you have some bread, a meat pie, some garnish and a sandwich press then give it a go. You could be pleasantly surprised.
