This would be much better than roses.

It wouldn't be Valentine's Day without a cheeky few roses to brighten up your day.

While people have been receiving bunches of the red flower for decades, some reckon the tradition is getting a bit tired. But what would you get your partner to show them your love if you didn't get roses?

Well, it seems like more and more people are turning away from giving a traditional bouquet and instead opting for a bunch of fried chicken.

We certainly haven't heard of anyone chowing down on their roses on February 14; but if you made them into finger-licking good chicken, then there wouldn't be much of a bouquet left at the end of the evening.

Food delivery services like Menulog are renowned in Australia for giving consumers quick access to fried chicken. So if you're feeling crafty, it's not too difficult to put together a friend chicken bouquet for your special someone.

That's exactly what Gabriel You did for his girlfriend Lucy Zhao to make her smile.

The 28-year-old and his partner are obsessed with KFC chicken, so he decided to ditch regular flowers for a special occasion and made a beautiful and enviable bunch of KFC popcorn chicken and wings for her.

Lucy said: "He suggested we do a bouquet of KFC chicken and I thought it was hilarious and thought it was a really good idea.

"He bought all the chicken wings and popcorn chicken and popped them onto skewers and then took it to our usual florist who wrapped it all up.

"It looked great. All these other people were looking at it and asking me what it was because it looked like chicken. I said, 'It is chicken!' and gave them some to eat. It was so funny, and they enjoyed it."

You can see how happy this made Lucy and you could be making your partner smile this much if you get crafty with your food orders.

Best you log on to Menulog and sort your Valentine's Day plans.
