Your choice of Nando's sauce has always been the ultimate test to see if you've got balls. But while some people can just about hack the spicy stuff - sweating their way through the macho display - some others are left struggling at the first hurdle: lemon and herb, which many reckon still has a bit of a kick to it.

Well, now there's another not-too-hot hot sauce to splash all over your chicken, as Nando's has released a brand new flavour in the form of Coconut and Lemon.

The new Peri Peri sauce was announced on the restaurant chain's official Instagram, and people are already on board.

"I need this!!!" one Nando's fan wrote.

"This is like heaven in a bottle, NEED," another said.

"We need this ok?" someone else posted, tagging a pal.

But some tentatively wrote that it still sounded a bit too spicy for their palates, with one person saying: "Yeah that shit is medium. Too hot fam."

The restaurant captioned the photo: "May the sauce be with you," which is obviously a play on words seeing as it's 4 May today, aka Star Wars day!

Nando's has been pretty thoughtful recently, as just last month it launched a new range of 'bake in the bag' sauces to cater for those who want 'restaurant style' food at home.

The new Bag & Bake cooking sauces are the first ever packet mixes from Nando's, aiming to allow people to enjoy Nando's peri-peri chicken at family dinner tables but without having to get a greasy takeaway.

Sam Frost, from Nando's, told The Grocer: "Younger consumers are short on time and choose the oven as a convenient cooking tool, hence why Bag & Bake came around.

"The new product provides simplicity for cooks by helping them to create easier, tastier restaurant- inspired meals."

The sauces will come in three flavours: Lemon & Herb, Medium and Hot.

But something tells us that even though customers can get the Nando's taste at home it won't stop them from visiting the South African chicken restaurant, which has become a staple of British high streets since it arrived in the UK in 1992.

Last month Nando's also brought out a new starter in the form of Halloumi Sticks and Dip, which come with a side of chilli jam, for £3.70

Nando's said: "The famous squeaky cheese has long been the perfect compliment to Nando's fiery brand of Southern African PERi-PERi chicken, and is now rewarded with its very own starter.

Consisting of five chunky sticks of halloumi, grilled until golden brown and served with a pot of Nando's sticky, sweet chilli jam for dipping; addiction levels will be high..."

The chain also brought out a Veggie Cataplana for £6.45 which looks pretty banging.

Nando's said: "The dish consists of chargrilled veg, chickpeas and beans, in a fiery rich tomato and coconut sauce. Served on spicy rice and sprinkled with toasted coconut shavings; Nando's refreshing twist on the traditional dish is not one to miss this spring."
