Salt Bae is opening a new restaurant in the UK later this month.

The social media sensation and chef to the stars is bringing his meaty menu to London, and it's understood the menu will include his famous 24-carat gold steak.

But it won't come cheap, as prices in his other restaurants suggest the golden tomahawk could set diners back an astonishing amount - potentially up to £700, judging by the $1,000 price tag in the US. So you'd better get saving.

However, it would mean you could count yourselves among the army of A-list stars that ol' Salt Bae, real name Nusret Gokce, has served in the past, like Paul Pogba, Leonardo Di Caprio, and David Beckham. And you can't deny that it would look great on the Gram.

The opening of the Nusr-Et, London has been delayed for some time due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But after a long wait, the high-end eatery is set to open its doors on 17 May at The Park Tower Knightsbridge hotel.

Restaurant expert Adam Hyman told GQ that it was the ideal location for the restaurant.

He said: "Knightsbridge is the perfect postcode for the restaurant, whether it's for those who want to tick the restaurant off their restaurant bucket list or the locals and tourists of SW1 who want to eat somewhere other than Zuma.

"People are itching to get out, socialise, have fun and spend money.

"As a city, we have been starved of restaurants for practically an entire year, so new openings will be received with even more anticipation than pre-Covid times."

So is it worth the trip? Well, according to private chef and food blogger Vanessa Cole, it's a big yes, with the writer saying that Salt Bae's steaks are 'tender and melt like butter in your mouth', and certainly 'worth the money'.

She spoke to the publication about her encounter with the man himself at his Dubai gaff.

Cole said: "I told the waiter that we had come specifically for Salt Bae to cut our steak, so they brought me a menu that included only the premium or gold-wrapped steaks.

"I figured Salt Bae only comes out for the most premium dishes."

Recently, people were shocked to discover the price of the food at Salt Bae's restaurants, with a viral photo of a receipt from the site in Miami, Florida, showing a bill of $6,228.05 (£4,480).

Looking at the receipt, we can see there's a fair amount of food and drink on there, but breaking it down, there are a few eye-watering costs that stand out.

Along with a number of fish starters, a $10 Sprite and vegetable sides costing in excess of $15 (see '2 French Fries 30.00' and '2 Spinach 36.00'), there's also a Tomahawk steak for $275 (£200) as well as a 'Golden Tomahawk' for $1,000 (£720).

One person also shared a picture of the menu and the $1,000 'Golden Tomahawk'.
