Why Is Fortnite Not Working Right Now?

Why Is Fortnite Not Working Right Now?

Fortnite is currently down.

Fortnite is currently down.

Fortnite Status recently announced the “server downtime” update via their Twitter page in preparation for the 19.30 update, which is soon to be released on Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android and PC

It is not clear how long the server will be down for, currently.

The social media page, named @FortniteStatus, wrote: “We're beginning to disable matchmaking in preparation for the v19.30 update, with server downtime beginning soon.

“We’ll let you all know when downtime has ended!”

The Express, however, reported that the downtime “is expected to run until 10.30am GMT”.

The Twitter page also noted that matchmaking would have been disabled 30 minutes before the scheduled update.

“The v19.30 update is scheduled for release on February 15th. Downtime will begin at 04:00 AM ET, with matchmaking being disabled 30 minutes before,” Fortnite Status wrote.

Epic Games previously announced that the new patch update will see Uncharted characters Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer being added to the game, coinciding with Tom Holland’s newest movie release.

The game update will also see the return of Treasure Maps, which Fortnite players can use to find items.

Players will also be glad to discover that update 19.30 adds a slew of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, which will hopefully address common bugs in the game.

When the game is back up and running, we'll let you know right here.

More to follow.
