When you hear the phrase 'how good was Tony Hawk Pro Skater' it's easy to feel a jolt of nostalgia.

But if you've been wanting an early '00s injection into your system then we might have found the best thing for you.

The man himself, Tony Hawk, is coming to Sydney and Melbourne in April this year to give a chat about his career.

The two events are described as Tony 'answering to the fans' for the first time Down Under. The legendary skateboarder will be 'giving us access to the man behind the skater; sharing his career highlights, hilarity, and even lowlights'.

They'll tackle everything from his infamous 900, life as an older athlete and how he feels about the video game franchise that helped launch him into mainstream success.

After he's done with his spiel, he'll open the floor to a Q&A for anyone who has any burgeoning questions for the 51-year-old.

But what's even better is that Hawk will also bring along a Tony Hawk Pro Skater cover band, who will belt out all the bangers from the classic video game franchise.

BIRDMAN: Or The Unexpected Virtue Of A Tony Hawk Pro Skater Cover Band is described on Facebook as 'six guys with an undying passion for the greatest video game soundtracks to ever exist - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1-4'.

The Sydney-based band was even invited by Tony to America to play at the video game's 20th anniversary last year.

Hawk joined the guys on stage to play The Adolescents' legendary banger 'Amoeba', which was on Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3.

Let's hope that a similar scene plays out when Hawk comes to Australia on April 13 and 14 for his gig. One can only hope.
