Georgia Toffolo Wins £37k At Cheltenham Races As She Praises 'Beginner's Luck'

Of course, the former Made in Chelsea star didn’t start off with small change.

While most of us would be buzzing just to win a tenner on a scratchcard, reality star Georgia Toffolo just landed a whopping £37,500 at the Cheltenham races.

The former Made in Chelsea star didn’t start off with small change, placing £5,000 on her chosen horses.

When announcing the feat on Twitter, Georgia, 27, put it down to ‘beginner's luck’ – but a few members of the online community reckon it had more to do with the healthy betting sum.

Sharing a picture of her winnings today (15 March), she wrote, “OH MY GOD beginners luck,” shortly followed by a tweet that said, “Bloody hell can’t believe it. Generous donation incoming to both the @BritishRedCross and @decappeal.”

Despite the generous offer, Georgia – who calls herself Toff – faced criticism from a number of Twitter users.

“Not really ideal showing that you’re able to risk losing £2,500, when a lot of families can’t afford to heat their homes or feed their kids!” wrote one commenter.

“Beginners luck at that stake???” wrote another, while a third added: “Humble brag ‘I can drop 5k like it’s piss on a bet’.”

But not everyone was there to slam the former I’m a Celeb winner – those on the other side of the fence shared their congratulations.

“Well done! And also well done on your choice of charities,” commented one fan, with another writing, “Wow what a stake on the 1st race! Nice return though.”

Last month, the reality star faced criticism over a This Morning segment featuring her enjoying a trip in Mexico.

The clip was part of a series on the ITV show named Holiday 22, which sees various This Morning members travelling to the top vacation spots of this year.

However, Toff’s trip to Mexico didn’t fare too well with viewers at home, with many deeming it insensitive to air when rising living costs are impacting UK families.

"Hey everyone, we know how worried you are about the huge cost of living rise, so here's a very rich woman swanning around Mexico to cheer you up #thismorning,” wrote one.

Another said: "This item on #ThisMorning is tone deaf. So many are worried about how they’re going to eat/not freeze to death. Meanwhile TM have sent Toff on a 5-star holiday to Mexico.

“Can guarantee that if any of your viewers do make it away this year, they won’t be in a room like that!"
