Pharmaceutical specialist Eli Lilly and Company may have stumbled upon an even more popular weight-loss product than its bestselling Mounjaro.
Approved for market by the Food and Drug Administration this month, this daily GLP-1 pill known as Foundayo is available to purchase in the US as of this week.
In an interview with NBC News reporter Anne Thompson, 77-year-old clinical trialist Maggie Linton waxed lyrical about its affect on her health, having lost 60 pounds in two years.

"It's very easy to use," she told Thompson in a segment that aired on TODAY.
Linton's time with the drug proved instantly successful as she began to lose weight within a month. Her starting weight was 234 pounds and she now hovers around the 185lb mark.
Not only that, though, Foundayo improved the volunteer's blood pressure and cholesterol.
"It made a big difference almost immediately. I could see my weight, as well as the cholesterol and everything else, going down all at the same time."
When it came to side effects, Foundayo posed no real issues.
"About the only thing that I experienced when I first started was a little bit of constipation," Linton said. "But I learned how to eat better, move a little bit more, and that kind of went away".

As research into Ozempic tells us, the key to any weight-loss journey (even medically-induced ones) is regular exercise.
Linton abides by this unsaid rule, as she explained: "I do Tai Chi, I do walking and I take Pilates. The whole idea is to just stay as active as possible for as long as possible.
Despite being pill-free since last autumn, the trialist claimed she still doesn't feel the compulsion to eat as much as she used to.
"That's the one thing that it really does — curtail your need to eat. I found myself just eating smaller portions constantly. I go out to dinner, and because of the size portions, I almost always bring something home to eat the next day".
As spring settles in, Linton is keen to enjoy the great outdoors and walk a lot more, in part thanks to her boosted energy levels.
