People are shocked as Heinz Beanz pizzas return

After disappearing in 2003, the Heinz Beanz Pizza has returned and is now available in Iceland stores until the end of November

Many of you may remember the almighty Heinz Beanz pizzas back in the 1990s, which became an unparalleled teatime treat before they sadly disappeared from shelves in 2003.

Sure, the hot baked beans would almost always scald the roof of your mouth, but that’s only because you were too desperate to shovel it in – and, frankly, it was simply part of the fun.

Ever since the product was discontinued, we’ve been pining for the British-Italian fusion food that served as a highlight of your childhood dinner table.

Some people have admitted to spooning beans from the can on top of their pizza before tossing it into the oven, but it’s not the same.

However, now – after a 20-year hiatus – the incredible creation is making a triumphant return to shops, meaning you can get a hit of cheesy, beany nostalgia for a limited period.

The frozen pizzas are being sold in Iceland stores after relaunching on 14 November, costing just £3.

But you’ll have to be quick, as they’re only available until the end of November before disappearing from our lives once again... Worth stocking up, IMO.

The iconic Heinz Beanz Pizza has returned.

Sophie Higgins, Head of Growth Platform, New Ventures at Heinz, said: “We are so excited to relaunch our Beanz Pizza. It truly is ICONIC.

"After seeing the excitement build this year following the launch of our Beanz Burgerz, Beanz Bowls and Beanz Filled Hash Browns, bringing back our Beanz Pizza felt like the perfect follow up.

“We know there are some true fans of our frozen Beanz Pizzas out there and – after a 20-year hiatus from supermarkets – we hope they’re as happy today as we are to hear this absolute classic is available again in stores.

“This is our fourth foray into the freezer aisles for Heinz Beanz over the past year, following the launch of our first frozen ready meals range - Beanz Burgerz, Beanz Bowlz, and Beanz Hash Browns. But we don’t plan on stopping there. Make sure to watch this space for even more exciting Beanzy news!”

One shopper has already managed to track some down in their local Iceland store, having shared the news on Reddit.

“Unsure if this is a crime or genius,” user ElfinAinu said.

The general consensus seemed to lean more towards the latter, with one commenting: “Omg they're back. They are amazing. Cook the f**ker properly, add some salt and pepper and maybe a tad of sweet chili sauce... but if you value the skin on your palate... let it cool for at least ten mins before diving in. That thing is hotter than the devil's bath water.”

One Reddit user shared their discovery online.

Someone else said: “HOLY C**P ITS BACK!! Where did you find this?! When this was first released in the 90s I ate these all the time then they stopped making them! Beat pizzas I’d ever eaten at the time!”

Another described the product as ‘God level pizza’, while another warned: “Prepare to lose the skin from the roof of your mouth.”

Not everyone was convinced, though.

“Heinz meanz crimez,” one user quipped.

Hey, don't knock it 'til you've tried it...
