An historic three-bedroom home has come on the market, and it can be all yours for free.

House prices are rising everywhere, with the average age of first-time buyers having catapulted to 34 years old, so why not up sticks and purchase this three-bed spacious detached house in Kansas, US, for the grand total of $0 (£0)?

However, there's a catch.

A historic three-bedroom house located in Lincoln, Kansas has been put on sale for free.

If you decide to buy the house, you wouldn't be allowed to move in, but would be required to move the actual house from where it currently resides.

The house has been situated in a plot at 602 N 2nd street in Lincoln, Kansas since 1910.

However, the hospital that faces it on the opposite street is set to take over the land.

The Lincoln County Hospital & Healthcare Foundation has decided that instead of demolishing the building, it would prefer to give it away.

The listing for the 2,023 sq. ft and two-floored property states: "The entire house has enough woodwork to make anyone swoon with wood floors and all oak and pine trim is in original condition.

"The house is solid and has been occupied up until a few years ago. A tour of the interior would prove the house is far from requiring demolition.

"The biggest issue is with the existing stone foundation which would be solved with the house moved to another location and placed on a new foundation.

"The exterior needs work but a new owner could still live in the house and tackle exterior improvements in phases if needed."

The listing also stressed that the property 'is in MUCH better condition than the street view would suggest'.

Fear not - if you were thinking you may have to channel your inner Carl Fredricksen and tie thousands of balloons atop the property in order to move it to your preferred location on the other side of the world, there are various plots in the same town that are available and similarly cost nothing.

However, the cost of moving the entire house and plopping it down in a new location is estimated as totalling at least $150,000 (£144,000).

However, a grant fund of $30,000 (£22,795) has been secured by Lincoln County Economic Development Foundation to help with the relocation of the house.

If you think you're up for the challenge, then you better be quick because time is running out. The house will be demolished if no new owner is found and has it moved by the end of the year.

It may seem like a wild idea, but as our favourite Junior Wilderness Explorer Russell said: "The wilderness must be explored!"
