Jake Paul slammed for brutal comment on Tommy Fury’s baby birth announcement

Jake Paul has been criticised after he commented on Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague's baby announcement post.

Tommy, 23 and Molly-Mae, also 23, announced the birth of their daughter on Instagram on Monday evening. The pair were inundated with well wishes from friends and followers, but one comment left by Paul has left people fuming.

Between injuries and visa issues, Fury has had to reschedule his fight with Paul, 26, twice now, but the boxers will settle their long-running feud in the much-anticipated match taking place on 26 February in Saudi Arabia.

While the pair have been blasting each other on social media for the past year, they have never exchanged words in person before this weekend, when Paul flew to London for the Artur Beterviev vs Anthony Yarde light-heavyweight title clash.

With their rivalry taking a personal turn, Paul warned that Fury had 'no excuses now'. Claiming he had welcomed his first child with girlfriend Molly-Mae, Paul tweeted: "Baby’s born. Money’s massive. Immigration no issue."

When answering questions over him 'leaking' the baby news, Paul told reporters: "Did I do that? I leaked it? Oh s***. My bad. I’m sorry Tommy, but don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone the gender or anything like that."

Once the couple had officially announced the news themselves however, Paul took another swipe by commenting on the post.

“Just in time to watch your dad get knocked out," he wrote in the since-deleted comment.

And the comment didn't go down well with fans, with one writing: "No matter your opinion on the whole Jake Paul and Tommy Fury situ, it’s just morally wrong to a) announce the birth of someone else’s baby and b) comment on their announcement post with such an inappropriate comment."

While another said: "Jake Paul announcing the birth of someone else's baby before they do seems cruel to me, I feel like he robbed them of a special moment for, what, a cheap shot?"

And a third added: "The fact that Jake Paul actually leaked that Molly Mae had her baby is so sad for her. I would have been gutted if someone had announced that I had birthed my child before I got to, especially to millions of people."

Repeating the claims about the baby's birth, Paul added to reporters: "Yeah. It’s a bit bizarre. Two of his biggest life moments in a very short time period here.

"I was telling my friends: I don’t know how he’s mentally going to be able to deal with that.

"If I had a kid, I wouldn’t want to be showing up at the gym, so I think it’s going to be a distraction for him."
