Jason Manford was absolutely terrified after his daughter’s phone was taken over by hackers.

The comedian was left well and truly baffled by the whole ordeal when he began to receive texts from his child, who was sitting right beside him but - here's the kicker - she wasn't the sender.

The father-of-six has since shared the bizarre debacle to social media.

Online hackers and scammers seem to be running rampant right now. From the recent 'Armageddon alarm', which is set to see scammers attempt to exploit the government’s upcoming nationwide test of its new Emergency Alerts system, all the way through to viral Whatsapp family emergency phone hack.

And it's been no different for Manford after his daughter's phone got mysteriously hacked into.

Manford took to Instagram earlier this week to share the news. He uploaded a screenshot of his daughter's 'Find My iPhone' location, which had somehow wound up all the way in India.

He captioned the post: "So this is an odd one!

"The other morning my daughter sent me loads of texts which isn’t unusual by itself, but at the time she was sitting right next to me and not on her phone!"

Freaky.

One of the several texts in question read: "Hi I have your phone and I need password to unlock it."

Sounds fishy right off the bat.

The 8 Out of 10 Cats star went on to reveal: "I thought someone had hacked my daughter’s phone somehow and was texting them back trying to work out what the hell was happening.

"I didn’t believe it was real," he added.

To make it even more alarming, the hacker then sent the comedian 'actual photos' of his daughter and her friend, which were sourced from her iCloud account, as well as 'screenshots of her Snapchat chats'.

Manford told his followers he was well and truly 'freaked out' by the whole thing.

As if it couldn't get any worse, the hackers then called him up from his daughter's phone number.

"I was furious as he explained that he'd bought the phone off some dodgy shop but he couldn’t reset it without the password or something (which obviously I wasn’t gonna give!)" the dad penned.

After receiving the call, Manford then told the hacker that he was 'calling the police', which clearly freaked him out.

"How bloody weird is that?"

The Masked Singer star added: "He deleted everything he sent and blocked me!

"I worked out that my dad took (and lost!) my daughter’s old iPhone 6 to Australia LAST February & it must’ve found it’s way into a phone shop in Dubai or somewhere and this Indian fella must’ve got it."

The family only got to the bottom of the mystery when his daughter 'noticed pictures' that weren't hers appearing on her own photo albums.

The dad concluded: "I’ve now managed to log in, find it (somewhere near New Delhi!) and erase and remove it from her iCloud etc!

"How bloody weird is that?"

Very weird indeed.
