JK Rowling slams pro-trans activists at 'Let Women Speak' event after protests turn violent

The event in Brighton took a turn after radical feminist Kellie-Jay Keen's speech was disrupted by enraged pro-trans rights activists.

JK Rowling has condemned pro-trans rights activists after the 'Let Women Speak’ event turned violent.

Hundreds gathered to see Standing For Women founder Kellie-Jay Keen, also known as Posie Parker, speaking at the ‘Let Women Speak’ event in Brighton, England, as per Daily Mail.

However, the event took an ugly turn when Keen, who denounces transgender women, took the stage and had her speech disrupted by pro-trans activists from the group Reclaim Pride Brighton.

As pictures emerged from the event of police dragging protesters away as they separated the rival groups, JK Rowling panned the trans rights group for hurling abuse at event-goers.

She wrote: “I see the Be Kind brigade are once more hiding behind their black masks, throwing smoke bombs, screaming 'scum' at women speaking up for their sex-based rights and howling abuse at lesbians for not doing dick.

Like Parker, Rowling has been accused of being transphobic after writing a series of tweets that copped heat back in 2020.

In June 2020, she wrote in part: "If sex isn't real, there's no same-sex attraction. If sex isn't real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives."

Before the event took place, Reclaim Pride Brighton slammed Keen while calling on supporters to crash the event.

They wrote via Twitter: “Call out to resist TERFs in Brighton. Posie Parker is bringing her transphobic hate tour to Brighton and we must make it clear that she is not to come here!

"She teams up with violent eliminationists and fascists in an attempt [to] rile up hatred for trans people and divide our community. We won’t let this happen!”

They added for supporters to bring flags and white noises to ‘drown them out’.

Last year, the radical feminist made headlines after she urged men with guns to use women’s toilets to 'protect' them because nothing screams safety more than men being allowed to carry assault rifles in lavatories. Am I right, ladies?

According to Pink News, in a since-deleted YouTube video, Parker said: “I’m talking about you dads, who maybe carry – I think that’s what you say, I’m so down with the American lingo.

“Maybe you carry, maybe you don’t. Maybe you consider yourself a protector of women, maybe you’re that sort of man.

“Maybe you have a daughter or a mother, or a wife, maybe you have a sister. Maybe you have friends, maybe you just think women are human and you don’t need any absolute connection with them to feel compelled to protect us.

“I think you should start using women’s toilets, men.”
