Johnny Depp Laughs As Amber Heard's Lawyer Questions Disney Boss About Alpacas

Johnny Depp was seen laughing to himself as Amber Heard's lawyer asked a Disney boss about alpacas. Watch the moment below:

The Edward Scissorhands star is in the midst of a multimillion dollar defamation case against his ex-wife over an article she wrote in 2018, in which she claimed she was a survivor of domestic abuse.

Though not named in the op-ed, Depp argues that the article was clearly a reference to their relationship and badly impacted his career.

The 58-year-old is suing Heard for $50 million while she is countersuing him for $100 million.

During the trial, numerous references have been made to Depp being cut from the Pirates of The Caribbean franchise.

And this week, Tina Newman, who works on the films, was asked about an answer Depp gave to Heard's council earlier in the trial, where he was asked whether he would sign up to another Pirates movie if the studio offered him $300 million and one million alpacas.

Johnny Depp was seen chuckling as a witness was asked about alpacas during the trial.

When asked if Depp was being considered for the sixth movie, Newman replied: "I don’t know one way or another."

She added that the "decision does not fall within my job responsibilities. It’s above my pay grade".

Heard's lawyer then went on, asking: "Is Disney aware that Mr Depp has testified under oath that he would not take another Pirates of the Caribbean franchise role for $300m and a million alpacas?"

Newman again answered: "No."

And when asked if Disney had ever thought about "paying Mr Depp more than $300m and [providing] him with more than a million alpacas to be able to obtain his services for any future Pirates of the Caribbean role", she replied: "No."

Throughout the entire exchange, Depp could be seen laughing with his legal team, covering his mouth to stifle his chuckle.

Earlier this week, Ellen Barkin, who had a relationship with Johnny Depp, testified that he was a 'controlling' and 'jealous' boyfriend.

Ellen Barkin branded Depp as 'jealous and controlling'.

Barkin – who has starred in films such as The Big Easy, Johnny Handsome and Ocean's Thirteen – said she met Depp in 1990 and their platonic friendship changed to a sexual relationship.

Reflecting on their relationship – which lasted between three to six months – Barkin said Depp was jealous.

Speaking in a pre-recorded deposition, filmed in 2019, the 68-year-old said: "He's just a jealous man, controlling.

"'Where are you going? Who are you going with? What did you do last night?'

"I had a scratch on my back once that got him very, very angry because he insisted it came from me having sex with a person who wasn't him."
