Karen’s Diner customer was left in tears after staff called her a ‘filthy ranga’

In a peak 'Karen' move, diners have started to crack it at the wait staff of a restaurant that is themed around being rude to customers.

A woman says she was left in tears after staff at Karen's Diner allegedly mocked her red hair.

Karen's Diner, an interactive restaurant experience that advertises itself as having, rude, no-nonsense wait staff, offers service without a smile. It's their whole schtick.

One woman said that staff there called her a 'filthy ranga' - a derogatory term for people with red hair - during her visit at the restaurant. Check out the video below:

Originally starting as a pop-up restaurant in Sydney, Karen's Diner locations can now be found in further locations across Australia and the UK.

People who dare to have a meal at one of their restaurants will be greeted with a warning message when they go to book that states what could possibly go on once they arrive.

It states: "Warning, rude language is used across our venues. We are not Disneyland. We strongly recommend minors to not attend past 6pm on weekdays and 5pm on weekends."

Despite this, the seemingly sassy, belligerent behaviour of wait staff proved to be too much for one woman, who took to TikTok under the username @clanciitalks to slam the restaurant after her experience.

The Karen's Diner staff allegedly mocked the woman's red hair.

"I love roleplay, improv, acting, all of that stuff so I was so excited," the Australian woman said on social media.

“But it was really horrible. They just literally bullied me about my hair."

The woman even reportedly 'started crying' because the way they spoke to her was 'triggering'.

She ended the video by saying she wouldn't recommend anyone go to the diner unless they wanted to 'pay to be bullied'.

While some sympathised with her, others pointed out that it was to be expected due to the nature of the restaurant.

One user said: "That’s kinda the whole point."

A second added: "Don’t go to Karen’s if you can’t take the heat, it’s like that on purpose."

A third said: "How could you not know what it's like before going?! I've seen plenty of videos and there is no way I would ever step foot in there."

Others pointed out the irony of complaining about a restaurant that has based itself on 'Karens' who complain about things.

Karen's Diner has some basic house rules 'in order to maintain a shred of sanity'. If these rules are broken, it will result in customers being asked to pay and leave the venue immediately.

The rules state: "No racist, sexist, homophobic or ableist comments or slurs will be tolerated. No body shaming. No sexual harassment.

"Any damage of vandalism of the venue will lead to instant removal from the venue. (Charges may also apply)

"Keep your food and drink on your tables, don't throw them, it's not fun."

However, in typical Karen Diner fashion, the rules conclude with: "Just sit down, shut up, eat your food and bring on the banter."
