Everybody is looking for the perfect get-rich-quick scheme. Whether it's with scratchies, the lotto, day trading on the stock market, or entering your name on that money giveaway competition, we're all desperate for the fastest way to make a heap of cash in next-to-no time.

But an app has just advertised a semi-quick way to earn some cash if you have the stamina to get the job done.

Finger on the App is what it says on the tin: you have to keep you finger on your phone screen on the app for the longest time and you could win up to USD $25,000 (£20,100/AUD$36,000).

The blurb on the app's website states: "You will need to download the Finger On The App game from the Apple App Store (sorry Android users). On the day of the game, open up the app ahead of time to get ready!

"To play Finger On The App you put your finger on your phone and keep it there for as long as possible. Occasionally we will prompt you to slide your finger to a specific location. That's it! Whoever stays on longest wins."

But here's the kicker. While there are many benefits to capitalism, sometimes it can be a little brutal.

The app's developers have revealed that everyone who bows out of the competition has the chance to vote for how much the final prize is. If everyone was nice, they could put $25,000 and make the winner a very happy person. Or, they could put $0 and leave them in misery.

The final cash prize will be the average number generated from the votes. If you're nice, you'll want someone to win big.

There's no final time limit on this game so there could be people who will stay up for as long as possible in order to get the win. There's also another little rule that could drastically help you.

"If you enable bluetooth access for Finger On The App and play near (within 10 feet - and no closer than 6!) of other people you both will get an extra life," the app says.

"This means that if your finger slips off, you will have 10 seconds to put it back on without penalty. You can have up to 3 extra lives."

If you receive calls or anything else that takes you away from the game, there's no way of getting back.

The blurb continues: "You must have your wifi on to play, but phone calls, alarms, or other interruptions can cause you to lose even if you didn't take your finger off the screen. Remember - it's Finger On The APP, not just Finger On Your PHONE."

The game will begin on 30 June at 3pm EST.
